Getting started
What do I need to run it?
A Mac (macOS 11 or newer) or a Windows 10/11 PC. Both apps run on it in the background. Scout needs the email inboxes your store orders go to. Scale needs an eBay seller account. An iPhone and Discord are optional.
Does a window have to stay open?
No. Both apps start when you log in and keep running after you close their windows. The computer just needs to be on and awake. Turn on Prevent automatic sleeping in System Settings > Energy to be safe.
Can I use Scout without Scale, or the other way round?
Yes. Each works alone. Scale gets your real costs and incoming stock from Scout, so profit is exact when you use both.
Does it work on Windows and Android?
Yes. ScoutNScale runs on Mac and Windows. The phone app works on iPhone and Android: open your private link and add it to your Home Screen.
How many computers can I use?
Each license works on 2 computers at a time. To move it, choose Deactivate on the old computer, then enter your key on the new one.
Scout
Which stores does Scout read?
Target, Walmart, Pokémon Center, Amazon, Bandai, Topps and EQL. It also reads UPS, FedEx and USPS emails to catch delays and returns.
Which email providers work?
Gmail, iCloud, and any email that supports IMAP. You can connect up to 10 inboxes. Gmail and iCloud connect with an app password.
Will it pick up my personal orders?
No. Scout only tracks orders from the stores above, and skips stores like Temu entirely.
Scale
Which marketplaces does Scale track?
eBay sales come in automatically. Tradepost, local sales and trades can be added by hand in a few taps, and they still come out of your stock.
Can Scale change my eBay listings?
Only a listing's price, and only when you tap Update. It never changes shipping, handling time or quantity, so presale listings stay within eBay's rules.
Will I get spammed with offer alerts?
No. You get one alert for a buyer's first offer and one for their first message. More offers or messages from the same buyer don't post again.
Privacy
Where is my data stored?
On your computer, in a private ScoutNScale data folder. There is no ScoutNScale server holding your orders, sales, email passwords or eBay sign-in.
How does the phone app reach my computer?
Over your home Wi-Fi, or over Tailscale when you're away. Each computer makes a private link that only your devices have, and you can replace it any time.
Buying
Why is there a lifetime price?
Because tools you rely on daily shouldn't hold your data hostage to a renewal date. $30 once covers both apps and every update.
How do I cancel or update my card?
Open Manage monthly plan and sign in with the email you paid with. Stripe emails you a sign-in link. A canceled plan keeps working until the end of the month you paid for.
Can I switch from monthly to lifetime?
Yes. Cancel the monthly plan and buy lifetime whenever you like.
I lost my license key.
